Being one of the more eccentric personalities we have ever met on Vancity’s streets, it is no wonder that SHUGARBOY is racing to the top of the Entertainment Industry: whether it be as an Electronic Producer, Visual Artist OR Fashion Designer.

SPOTTED! Shugarboy drops an official remix for Karl Wolf’s GET AWAY – OUT NOW!

Engaging? Surely. Slightly unconventional
strange? Whatever. Tbh we don’t give a sh*t because let’s be honest: the basic bitch is not the one who made it to the top.

SHUGARBOY has spent the past 9 years working on his craft
obsessively. His ‘unconventional’ behavior secured collaborations with industry professionals such as Jeff Daniels, Juno Award‘s Elaine Lil’Bit Sheppard, Hedley‘s Tommy Mac, Rhys Fulber of Delerium & Elise Estrada. Not to mention the $10,000 StoryHIVE threw at him for his track ‘Disintegrate’. No bigs. We did you a solid & linked it.

His passion for all forms of creative expression inspired him to create an Anime influenced clothing & accessory line called SHUGARBOY Brand (SHBB). With a store-front in Alberta & pop-up shops in Vancouver, SHBB is inspired by Japanese street-style culture, unseen in North American fashion. #REALTALK

“BEING A CREATIVE, MY VISION IS TO BREATH NEW LIFE INTO CLOTHING & ACCESSORIES BY ADDING MY OWN ORIGINAL DESIGNS & HOMAGES TO THE ARTWORK THAT HAS INSPIRED ME THROUGHOUT MY LIFE. MY GOAL IS TO MAKE A STATEMENT WITH EVERY PIECE I CREATE. SOMETHING THAT ANYONE CAN SPOT IN A CROWD & RECOGNIZE AS SHUGARBOY BRAND (WHICH I SEE AS FASHION FOR THE UNIQUE & EXPRESSIVE, NOT DEFINED BY GENDER OR SIZE). WEARABLE ART THAT INSTILLS CONFIDENCE, INDIVIDUALITY & SELF EXPRESSION. URBAN STREET STYLE COMBINED WITH ORIGINAL ART.”

If you know, you know.

We encourage everyone to promote their authentic self. OBVI we are obsessed with SHUGARBOY than. Everyone knows we feel V strongly about the difference between Fashion & Style. Our fav shugar uses both
.fluidly. But if you can use both, why differentiate at all?

“FASHION, WHILE AN ART FORM IN & OF ITSELF, IS VERY CALCULATED WHEREAS STREET-STYLE IS MORE EMOTIONAL. IT’S INFECTIOUS, & ORGANIC. THE SHUGARBOY BRAND IS DEFINITELY A LITTLE BIT OF BOTH. I LIKE TO HAVE MY OWN FASHION FORECAST. I DON’T NECESSARILY FOLLOW A TREND. EACH PIECE IS A REFLECTION OF WHAT I WANTED TO CREATE IN THAT SPECIFIC MOMENT DUE TO MY EMOTION, BUT IT’S EXECUTION (FROM DRAWING THE DESIGN & HOW IT’S PRINTED) IS VERY CALCULATED. I HOPE TO MERGE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FASHION & STYLE BECAUSE STREET-STYLE, ALTHOUGH ORGANIC, IS RISING AS THE FASHION OF THE PEOPLE & IT’S EXECUTION DESERVES TO BE CALCULATED.”

SPOTTED! Another Shugar banger, ‘Like You Loved Me – Shugarboy Remix’ – OUT NOW!

Oh my, we knew we were obsessed with him for a reason. Fine, friendship back on

SHUGARBOY’s passion & commitment to quality combined with the Creative Direction of VANCITY STREET fueled a magic Editorial spread featuring Canada’s very own Elise Estrada.

“VANCITY STREET REALLY ENCOURAGES EVERY PERSON INVOLVED TO USE THEIR FULL CREATIVE POTENTIAL. THEY REALLY WANT THE AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCE OF THAT ARTIST. I’M SO GRATEFUL TO WORK WITH SUCH AN AMAZING TEAM & I AM SO EXCITED FOR MY RUNWAY SET AT THEIR NEXT SHOW. I’D LIKE TO CALL IT “RUNWAY PERFORMANCE ART”. IT WILL TAKE YOU THROUGH A CREATIVE JOURNEY FILLED WITH COLORFUL CREATIONS, MUSIC & DANCE.”
